Wanna Start Yoga???

Recently, Yoga has been the new fitness buzz. Everyone talks about it celebrities, health networks, doctors, etc. If you have been interested in trying Yoga but have been procrastinating or just don't know how to get started, videos may be your best option! I have been practicing Yoga for about three years now. The way I first got started was through Gaiam Fitness Videos. This brought out my passion for Yoga. I find that even after having the worst day ever it can make me happy. It has been know to reduce stress, lengthen and sculpt muscles, stretch your body, and make you happier. Not to mention that it has great affects on your skin as well! Your almost always glowing after you practice it! The video that I first used to get into Yoga was called Quick Start Yoga For Weight Loss. The instructors name was Suzanne Deason and she is basically the Yoga Guru for the Gaiam website. She is very easy to follow, takes everything slow for beginners, and has a very soothing voice. When she explains each pose she gives examples that relate to every day life you so can understand it more thoroughly. She takes you through a series of poses that promote weight loss with healthy eating. I found that this video really gave me a jump start to becoming fit, I believe that if I hadn't started out with this video to begin with I wouldn't be as fit as I am today. The video contains two easy to follow videos, one is the weight loss program and the second one is an easy stretching/meditation sequence. The Meditation sequence is perfect for waking up in the morning or winding down at night. There is a guarantee on the website that if you do not like the dvd you can return it within a certain amount of days. But, I'm positive that you won't be sorry when you purchase this video. For equipment, all you need is a simple yoga mat, a yoga strap, and a yoga brick. You can all purchase these on the Gaiam website as well. I hope that this review will get you dying to try Yoga! If you enjoy learning about Yoga and want me to blog more about it or make up Yoga Workouts, make sure you comment below! Oh and don't forget, when practicing Yoga drink plenty of water (out of a re-usable water bottle of course, to save the planet! (:)! P.S There are two different covers for the dvd so make sure you double check the name!

Trying to lose weight or stay fit?

I have always been a huge water drinker, I love it! So naturally, I opt for water instead of soda or sugary drinks. For some other people, they don't show as much love toward water. If your trying to cut back on soda, lose weight, or just be healthy h2o contributes a great deal of help. When you drink water instead of soda that slices over half of your sugar intake plus it cuts out empty calories. Another way it helps you lose weight is if you drink water when your hungry it will sometimes make your hunger go away. The reason for that is because sometimes your body confuses thirst with hunger so you eat when really your just thirsty. Studies have been shown that people who drink more water than the daily recommendation have a lower body percentage, not to mention give you healthy, glowing skin! Now, if you have problems with drinking water because it is flavorless, I can help you with that! Sometimes when I get bored with my water, I like to spice it up and add either sliced of or zest of a lemon, lime, orange, or cucumber.(Surprisingly, cucumbers adds flavor!) Adding one of the items above to your water gives it a great appearance, which most likely will entice you to drink it! So remember, when in doubt, drink it out!

Tip of The Day!

Does your skin ever feel dry or look tired by the middle of the day? If so, this tip of the day will help you! When your skin starts to look not so great, use a facial spritz. It makes your skin feel energized and it actually helps you feel more alert and awake. I recommend The Body Shop's Vitamin Facial Spritz. It was made for skin situations like this! I have been using it for over a year and love it. It makes my skin feel smooth and refreshed without smudging your make-up! Another reason why I love it, is it has a very light scent of citrus. So not only will your skin feel good, it will smell good too! Sometimes I like to use this all over my body when I need that extra boost of moisture and fragrance over the Summer. If your not willing to go out and buy a facial spritz then you can make your own! Just buy a mini spray bottle (you can find them at Walmart or Target in the travel section). Fill it with water, then add your favorite essential oil. Voilà! You have your own skin refresher!

Looking For A Healthy Treat?

Recently, I was skimming through the Granola Bar Aile trying to figure out what would be a healthy snack/breakfast/etc. I automatically go toward the Nature Valley Bars because they are my favorite, are healthy, and taste great. (Which is very important! No one wants a healthy bar that tastes like card board!) When I was looking through what kinds I wanted I discovered a new flavor. It was Oats and Dark Chocolate. Having a massive sweet tooth, I grabbed them immediately and check the nutritional value. I was thinking well, they have to be higher in Calories and such than the originals if it has chocolate in it. It wasn't, it was actually the same! Then I thought to myself, well I'll give them a try! When I got home I was anxious to tear open that box and bite into one for my snack. I was expecting it to be very bland, but boy was I wrong. That Granola Bar was the best one I've ever tasted. It tasted exactly like a chocolate chip cookie. It was so good, I actually felt guilty eating it. If you have been trying to cut down on sweets or lose weight for your New Years Resolution, this granola bar will be very helpful. There are two bars in each package a little bit bigger than a stick of butter. The granola makes it very filling and you get a cluster of chocolate in almost every bit. The best thing about this snack is its not too over powering! It has 190 calories, 8 grams of fat, 4 grams of Protein, and 28 carbs. (Rest of nutrition info in side picture) You may be thinking, whoa, that's high in carbs, but that's why its perfect for part of your breakfast! In the morning, your suppose to jump start your day with carbs. That also applies for your mid-day snack when you start to run out of energy. (This fits the snack category perfectly because snacks are suppose to be around 100-250 calories when your trying to lose weight or stay healthy.) So, if your New Years Resolution is to get fit and eat healthy! Don't forget to add Nature Valley Oats N' Dark Chocolate Granola Bar to your grocery list! Who's Got Holiday Spirit?

Hey guys, I know I've been majorly slacking. Its that time of the year where I don't post that often. Its always when all the Holiday madness starts I just don't have time to blog! I feel really bad because I know I have readers! Its just I think about blogging and then something else occupies my mind! Also, it doesn't help the fact that my laptop needs maintenance! Anyway, I'm going to attempt to start blogging again when I can. I want it to feel more like a leisure activity than a chore. So, I hope everyone is excited for Christmas! I just wanted to share a few ways I show Holiday Spirit!

  • When getting your nails done or doing your own nails, instead of a classic white french tip get a silver french tip. It works for any of the Holidays! Plus, it fits right in with the Winter atmosphere.
  • In the morning when your doing your make-up, try to use warmer colors that fit the Holiday spirit. This can really brighten your face when the Weathers cold outside.
  • When I make coffee, hot coco, or tea I like to take a Peppermint Candy Cane and using it as a stirring stick instead of a spoon, it gives it a great flavor!
  • Try a daring red lipstick instead of your classic gloss. Just make sure when doing a bright lip that you don't wear a dramatic eye at the same time. This can be way to over powering.

I know this is a useless blog post, but I thought it would be fun! Now, I want all of YOU guys to tell me, how do you show Holiday spirit?

Bath and Body Works Halloween!

Yes, the title says it all, Bath and Body's Halloween Collection....is BACKKKK! As you may know, I absolutely love Halloween. It is my favorite holiday, and I pretty much buy any cutesy thing that has to do with Halloween. I think the only reason why I love it so much is because I'm a really weird person haha. Anyway, back to what I was talking about. They have many new scents this year. They actually have a whole new line devoted to Autumn. It is called The Perfect Autumn. Now I can talk about this line forever and a day, but I'm going to sum it up for you guys! These are my own personal opinions from when I smelled these products. This line has a Shower Gel, Body Lotion, and Body Splash for each scent.

The first scent is called Ginger Vanilla. Now I'm not much of a ginger person but I actually liked this scent. It was very light and it had a nice hint of vanilla which I believe evened out the ginger smell.

Ginger Vanilla Fragrance Mist - Signature Collection - Bath & Body Works

The next scent is called Harvest Berry. This scent isn't just all berries, I can smell a really small hint of Jasmine and a citrus smell. Its delicious (:

Harvest Berry Fragrance Mist - Signature Collection - Bath & Body Works

Leaves is probably my favorite scent. It is such a warm and cozy scent. It makes me just want to grab a blanket, a hot cup of tea, and curl up with a book! You can smell apple, cinnamon, berries, and spices (YUMMY!(:) in it. Hence why it is my favorite!
Leaves Fragrance Mist - Signature Collection - Bath & Body Works

The next item they have brought back with a twist is the Pumpkin Antibacterial Foaming Soap. The scent it vamped up now, it is the same pumpkin smell, but the added a touch of cinnamon which makes it amazing. Also, they re-did the soap bottle and instead of the anti-bacterial beads in it, it is now a foaming soap. They still have the old soap but I prefer the new one.The old soap is on the left and the new soap is on the right.
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin™ Jack-O-Lantern Gentle Foaming Hand Soap (Figural) - Anti-Bacterial - Bath & Body Works
Another cute item on my Halloween list, is the comfy socks they came out with. They have the most adorable colors and the softest I've ever felt.

Sweetest, Softest Ever™ Halloween Socks - Bath & Body Works - Bath & Body Works

They have brought back old favorites too, such as the wall flower plug ins. They have several designs, a Ghost, a Jack-o-Lantern, and a Haunted House. I could only find the picture of the Jack-o-Lantern thought. "/

They have also added a few more things such as shower puffs (to clean with), scentables, and Figurine Candles. They are pretty adorable. Now I could get into detail about all the scents, but I would probably just bore you guys so here is the list of them instead. There is Cinnamon Pumpkin, Spiced Cider, Vanilla Caramel, Pumpkin Patch, and Fresh Balsam.
